Biography
Dr. Alison McClymont is a clinical psychologist, author, and mother with nearly two decades of experience specializing in trauma. Originally from London, Dr. McClymont has worked extensively across South East and Central Asia, South America, and other regions, focusing on the treatment and research of survivors of sexual exploitation, trafficking, torture victims, refugees, and combat veterans.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. McClymont has served as a medico-legal expert in the field of trauma and has conducted influential research on topics such as vicarious trauma, incestuous abuse, and child sex trafficking.
She is a highly trained clinician, holding two Master's degrees in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Dr. McClymont is also dual HCPC accredited as both an arts therapist and a clinical psychologist, underscoring her versatility and depth of expertise.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. McClymont is a passionate writer. She is the author of How to Help Your Child Cope with Anything, a book offering practical guidance to support children recovering from trauma. She has also written Wilbur’s Memory Box, a children's book designed to help young ones navigate transitional moments in their lives.
